HOW TO BECOME A SECURITY CONSULTANT Introduction Surelock International Limited – Security Consultancy Services are seeking young (up to 30 yrs of age) persons (male or female) with an involvement, association, or interest in the UK Security world, who would like to train to become an ‘Independent Security Consultant’ with this company. Unfortunately we are unable to offer paid apprenticeship work, but Surelock are in a position to present a free on-line training course, over the next two (2) years, that will cover all aspects of the UK and world security activities, involving a 1 hour, weekly detailed interaction/instruction, with at least 5 hours expected home study activities, that will cover all aspects of “How to become a UK Security Consultant”. We feel that to give something back to this wonderful, important and exciting UK security industry, we now would like to provide knowledge, our expertise, specialisms, intelligence and experience to younger persons, who would like to learn and understand about this interesting and independent part of the UK security industry. The closing date for this offer is Wednesday 3rd June 2026, to give administration completion of this process. Criteria for Students We are limited (at the present time) to six individuals/students, under the age of 30, male or female, who either work/involved in the UK security industry or are associated to the UK security industry (Police, Military, HM Government, SIA licensed, installation or engineering world or other tenuous related activity/organisation) who can commit to learning about Independent Security Consultancy over the next two years. Commitment and dedication, with a willing attitude to learn and own personal interest is required, to enroll on this new and innovative security training course where students will learn everything, or as much as possible, about the UK security world, security consultancy, crime prevention, protection of premises and its other public facing activities. Learning about ‘security’ in the world we live in, at the present moment, with worldwide threats and dangers, can benefit yourself and your loved ones and this is an opportunity to understand this complex but interesting aspect of the security world. Course Activities This course will be presented on-line by experienced Adult Teaching Qualified personnel and active security consultants on a weekly basis, covering the broadest range of subjects that touch upon the UK and worldwide security activities. As well as the hourly instruction, each week will require five (5) hours of home study and research, set to give proper understanding and verification of activities presented and learnt. There will be formal presentations/documentation of learning that builds into a portfolio of understanding literature, recordings, and references for future use in this industry. Practical activities and initiatives will be interspaced throughout the course, with effective exercises and knowledge-based scenarios to verify the understanding of the vast range of security consultancy services. This course is designed to give the ability of passing off knowledge and information, intelligence gained and experience of understanding and advising on security aspects in most spheres of the different various UK security fields. An Independent Security Consultant is in a unique position to advise persons, businesses, organisations, authorities and Governments on preventing crime, securing properties and looking after personnel/staff without selling systems, supplying manned guarding provisions or other technical services, by using a fresh pair of eyes attitude and identifying what is relevant, important and integral to keeping persons and property safe. Summary of Contents of this ‘Independent Security Consultants’ Course This course has been designed to engage personally with the student/participant on-line in a friendly but instructive manner that gives the chance to question, but also to learn in an environment that aids and assist how to understand all aspects of the security consultancy services on offer. There are three-month reviews to confirm understanding, with submission of practical written papers or multi-choice questions and answers. The main topics include how to recognise good security practice and in-effective security issues in a practical way, then recommend improvements of security aspects that have an overall impact on persons or businesses/organisations to assist and complement their daily activities. Completion of this course should lead to learning how to communicate effective ideas verbally and in writing, to enhance and improve security on behalf of any client/company, business or organisation.
