Greater Manchester Police Crime Statistics

Fellow members. Following a recent development project in Greater Manchester where the client requested a Security Needs Assessment. Going through my usual due process in gathering and collating information about the site and the local crime data, I ran into the now familiar obstacle of GMP. The normal external data gathering site of Police.UK carries little to no crime data or statistics, unlike most other forces across the country. I could whinge and moan at this point, I’m sure others have done the same due to the lack of cooperation from GMP, but I won’t. My question is this. Can the ASC as a group approach Greater Manchester Police and Design for Security to negotiate a professional consultants gateway for us to get this valuable data? As we are all working to the same ends of making the environment secure and safe for residents and users, this should be in the best interests of the people of Greater Manchester.
