Archie Philipps RISC
My engagement with the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) began as the winner of the ASC’s 2021 Imbert Award for the best postgraduate dissertation on a security-related subject. I am the current Chair of the ASC’s Academic Advisory and Engagement Committee, and the Lead Judge for the 2026 Imbert Award, having served as a Judge for the 2025 Imbert Award.
Professionally, I am a London-based corporate protective security and intelligence analyst at Securitas, with previous experience as an intelligence analyst at Control Risks. I am responsible for security analysis and advice for some of the world’s biggest S&P 500, Fortune 500, and FTSE 100 multinationals, predominantly in high-risk sectors such as AI and technology, defence, energy, supply chains, and critical infrastructure. I work on both the strategic and operational levels, including physical security, executive security, travel security, and political and geopolitical risk.
In addition to my service with the ASC, I am an incoming Rising Leaders Fellow at the Aspen Institute UK, and an active Member of the Association of Security Consultants and RUSI NextGen. I have years of experience of pro-bono mentoring of multiple current students of security and young security professionals, as well as in cross-stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and communication initiatives, working with a range of audiences.
I hold an MLitt in Terrorism and Political Violence from the University of St. Andrews, and a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford, which included a year studying at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
Christopher Aldous CSyP, RISC
I am the Founder of Design Security Ltd established 2011, based in South Wales. I am an experienced security designer with a proven track record delivering practical, proportionate solutions for high profile and complex projects such as the Main Stadium for London 2012 and many stadiums in an ever changing threat environment.
I have a diverse team supporting me as without them the business could not achieve the many tasks that clients set. The ASC is very similar as without the active engagement by the membership the ASC could not take on tasks and thrive on the challenges that are set in the world of security.
In my work, results come from collaborative delivery: setting clear objectives, listening to specialist input, and bringing different perspectives together to make balanced decisions. I am used to coordinating designers, operators, client teams and suppliers, and creating an environment where people can challenge assumptions constructively while staying focused on practical outcomes. I would bring the same team approach to the ASC Board—working with members and fellow directors to turn strategy into delivery and to strengthen engagement across the association.
